I love visiting London, especially in summer, it’s already the 5th summer there/in succession and I have never come across the famous London weather. It’s always beautiful (or almost) beautiful weather.
Usually I choose the most popular hostels in the 1st or 2nd zone and this time something tempted me to choose a hotel in the 4th one – which was a big mistake – everywhere far, expensive metro, etc., But I have had a lesson for next time.
Itinerary is usually similar – the route of The Oxford Street, Hyde Park, and there stop at my favorite Pret a Manger (mandatory Earl Grey tea, a sandwich with chicken and avocado, organic fruit and smoothie), Buckingham Palace by Birdcage Walk to Big Ben and then the London Eye along the Thames to Tower Bridge. I often have had the opportunity to go this route to participate in the Festival of Love at the Southbank Centre.
After such a “journey” usually I fall with tiredness and I have no strength for the London nightlife.
The next day is Camden Town (cuisines from around the world), Covent Garden, Notting Hill and Portobello Road Market.
In the evening, this time I visited the “Sketch” and I was impressed by this place, especially The Gallery – a pink miracle and, of course, unique and exceptional toilets (I did not think that I will ever be delight with a toilet )
After dinner at Sketch necessary walk in Soho and China Town districts (sometimes I manage to spend a night in Trafalgar Square, admiring the local artists, but not this time – fatigue made itself known, and before I had arrived at the hotel at 4th zone I had already fallen asleep in the subway).
Plan every year is different, but some things remain unchanged :
eg. shopping in Primark hihih
